You can create two or more journal lines for each journal header. Journal line contains the account and amount details.

You can create trasaction lines by various different methods.
1. Manually entering all line level information.
2. Importing transaction lines from a spreedsheet.
3. Copying any existing journal.
4. Using create accounting program in various modules such AP, AR, etc.

Sequence Number:
Sequence number is a read-only field. System auto-populates a unique sequence number for all the lines across all the tabs for easy viewing of data of a single line in different tabs.

Line Id:
Line id is a read-only field. Line id is an auto increased, primary key of the gl_journal_line table.

Line Number:
System defaults a unique line number for each new line but allows you to modify the value.

Account Number:
Enter the account number in the account number field. You can enter the account number in different ways
i. Enter 2 consecutive characters from any part of the account number in the account number field and system will show you a list of account containing the text entered in that field. You can select the account number from the suggestion list.
ii. If you know the complete account numbers then enter it in the account number field.
iii. If you want to search account numbers, then click on account number field. System will show you a search icon next to the account field. Click on the search icon to search & select account.

Debit / Credit Amount:
Enter either a debit amount or a credit amount.

Ledger Debit Amount:
System calculates GL debit amount from the value entered in Debit amount field and exchange rate entered in header.

Ledger Credit Amount:
System calculates GL credit amount from the value entered in Credit amount field and exchange rate entered in header.

Status is a read-only field and shows the status of the journal line.
